Looking for something fun to do this evening? National Night out will be in full swing from 5-9:30 this evening at the Riverwalk Park. Fireworks, live music, food, 200+ vendors, Miss North Carolina, face painting, a bike give away (must be present to win) and more. We’re sponsors, so, please stop by and enjoy an evening on us!
I’d write more about this fun event as well as would love to give you regular bloggity blog blog visitors something interesting to read since I have been neglecting this forum as of late. . .however, even with the sassy reading glasses, I have an eyelid twitch and the fumes from highlighters (alright, they are fume free but work with me here) have my head swimming. . . so, more later, I promise! Plotting fantastical new adventures and projects to tackle in the next few months, and good stories always seem to happen when you kick off a new chapter in life. 🙂 TTFN.
It’s that time of year! The 8th annual Blueberry Festival in Burgaw is Saturday June 18 from 9 to 9 with a 5k fun run at 7:30 am. Live music, yummy food–fun folks! Count me in!
The North Carolina Symphony performance last night was wonderful. Gathered with a group of friends, we camped out on a front porch, enjoyed the tunes and catching up. Gardenia scented air, rocking chairs, moss draped trees, a glass of wine and world class performers. . .a tough night to beat!
The next concert in the area will be the Holiday Pops performance. Sunday, November 27 at three pm at Northside High School’s auditorium. Visit http://www.ncsymphony.org for more info, other exciting events as well as ticketing.
As usual, I’m working on a holiday weekend, but, also as usual, for a great reason. Helping military families enjoying a 96 (96 hours off) away from work find a place to call home. Please remember the reason for the holiday weekend. Check out a few great links. I’m off to dodge rain drops and lock boxes that bite as I show homes today. Enjoy your weekend!
On June 5, 2011 at 7:30 the North Carolina Symphony will perform Around the World in Eighty Minutes. Sponsored by Marine Federal Credit Union, Mine Safety Appliances and Onslow County Tourism.
“Music Director Grant Llewellyn takes you on a whirlwind journey across the globe with musical gems from the U.K., Austria, Italy, Russia, the Far East and, of course, our own United States. Helping us along the way is one of our favorite collaborators, Rhiannon Giddens Laffan, lead singer of the 2011 Carolina Chocolate Drops.”
The County has been trying to attract some great events and performers, please show some support, I’d love to see this event have a tremendous turn out. The park is beautiful and I’m sure it will be a fantastic night, care to join me?
*** Update, I was remiss in sharing additional GENEROUS sponsors: Platinum Corral, Modern Exterminating, Mr. & Mrs. Louis Sewell, Dr. & Mrs. Timothy Edwards, and Marine Chevrolet. Thank you folks for all you do!
